Research reveals that women who consumed a diet rich in antioxidants had a lesser number of strokes whether they had a prior history of heart disease or not.
Antioxidants like vitamins E and C, flavonoids and carotenoids can prevent inflammation and oxidative stress by scavenging the free radicals.
Antioxidants could also help improve endothelial function as well as reduce blood pressure, blood clotting and inflammation.
