According to research, higher levels of folate intake could reduce risk of colorectal cancer.
The researchers determined that all sources and forms of folate were linked to a reduced colorectal cancer risk.
The strongest connection was with total folate, which may include naturally occurring folate in food as well as folic acid from dietary supplements and fortified foods.
