A study has shown that people who had diets which were high in trans fats were more susceptible to have brain shrinkage in addition to lower scores with thinking and memory testing compared to individuals that had diets which were low in trans fats. Prepackaged food, fried food, baked goods, fast food as well as margarine spreads are the main foods in which trans fats are found.
The investigation involved 104 people with an average age of 87 with hardly any thinking and memory problem risk factors. Blood tests had been used to determine the amounts of a variety of nutrients in the blood of every individual.
